About

The position of Clinical Psychologist will be responsible for maintaining an integrated, psychosocial plan of treatment for all children and their families. This will include individual, family, marital, and group therapy for children affected by pediatric cancer, their siblings, or their parents. Neuropsychological assessments will be a major component of the role and are offered to both children affected by pediatric cancer and their siblings.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Psychologist 

  • Ability to attain a license in Tennessee and Georgia  

  • Excellent team building skills with physicians, nurses, social workers, and medical staff

  • Successful track record in budgeting, program development, team building and policy integration

  • Must successfully complete a drug screening and criminal background check

  • Must have a valid driver’s license 

  • Weekend and evening availability on an as needed basis 

  • Must be able to complete all required job responsibilities 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

  • Strong familiarity with administration, scoring, and interpretation of a wide range of  neuropsychological and other tests and measures administered face to face and through cloud based electronic delivery systems 

  • Demonstrated ability to operate within ethical and professional standards of care

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities 

  • Ensure every family receives comprehensive psychosocial care that is integrated into the child’s  medical care.

  • Oversee innovative, non-traditional plans of treatment for families dealing with the effects of  pediatric cancer. 

  • Cooperate with AHF Directors, Officers, Volunteers and Board of Directors to achieve Austin Hatcher Foundation goals. 

  • Promote the AHF, its mission, goals, and services with flexibility to work successfully in a unique  health care delivery setting.  


Job Specific Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for maintaining an integrated, psychosocial plan of treatment for all children and their  families. 

  • Provide individual, family, marital, and group therapy for children affected by pediatric cancer, their  siblings, or their parents. 

  • Perform neuropsychological assessments and report writing for children affected by pediatric cancer  and their siblings. 

  • Provide diagnosis based on assessments, testing, and evaluation. 

  • Develop and recommend treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnosis. ∙ Provide referrals when necessary for additional care, evaluation, or treatment.

  • Collaborate with AHF clinical staff, STEAM and/or industrial arts professionals to provide the best  care possible. 

  • Assist appropriate personnel in the acquisition and management of grant monies. ∙ Provide clinical direction to promote the Foundation’s growth in meeting its mission nationwide. ∙ Provide diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, testing/assessment, career counseling, and cognitive  rehabilitation coaching (e.g., Cogmed).  

  • Interpret assessment results and provide appropriate feedback to parents and other service  providers as necessary. 

  • Maintain documentation records utilizing foundation’s EMR system in accordance with clinical  guidelines and best practice standards on a timely basis. 

  • Participate and/or direct approved research projects. 

  • Provide integrated psychosocial care for children and their families. 

  • Serve as liaison on appropriate committees. 

  • Network on a national level (i.e., COG) to expand awareness of the AHF services within target  market. 

  • Maintain clinical license.
